2020 NATIONALS INVITATION LETTERS

We are putting the invitations for the 2020 Nationals in the mail today. Additionally, we are mailing the 1099-Misc forms to everyone as required by the IRS. If you have any questions, please feel free to call us.

Dear UFTA Member:

CONGRATULATIONS! The dog(s) and team(s) listed on your registration form are qualified to participate in the 2020 UFTA Nationals to be held February 22 - February 29 at Northeast Alabama Hunting Preserve, 1286 County Road 100, Section, Alabama. Our Trial Host is Jeff Ferguson, Northeast Alabama Hunting Preserve, Section, Alabama for 2020. Jeff has added a Five Stand Skeet Shooting area for anyone who is interested. If you have any questions, regarding lodging or questions about the facilities, direct those to Jeff Ferguson, Northeast Alabama Hunting Preserve at 256-638-7014 or 256-717-8595

A Staff meeting will be held at the Conference room prior to the beginning of the Nationals. Attendance is mandatory.

Practice birds will be available on Wednesday, February 19th. Practice birds must be purchased from Jeff. No outside birds are allowed to be brought onto the Hunting Preserve. Jeff Ferguson or someone he designates will be available to answer questions. His contact numbers are 256-638-7014 or 256-717-8595.

Event Schedule: Amateur Pointing Division Trial will be February 22nd and 23rd with Finals on February 24th. The date for the Doubles Pointing Division will be February 25th with the Finals on February 26th. Open Pointing Division will be February 27th and February 28th with the Finals on Saturday, February 29th. The Open Flushing Division will be on February 27th and February 28th with the Finals on Saturday, February 29th. The Doubles Flushing Division will be on February 25th. The Membership meeting will be held on Wednesday, February 26th at the Conference Center. Because there were no nominations from anyone for board members, the Board of Directors will remain the same.

The UFTA banquet will be before the Awards Ceremony. This event will be held on Saturday, February 29th at the Conference Center.

All Amateur dogs that qualify for the National Amateur Finals must have the proper registration and/or litter registration paperwork on your dog available upon request of the Field Trial Committee.

Anyone, age 62 and over, who is interested in running in the Seniors Trial on Monday, February 24th, please include the fee of $125.00 per dog with your deposit. This will be a two (2) run event. Therefore, please indicate the dog(s) you plan to enter and include this fee with your deposit. You must run a dog that is qualified for the UFTA Nationals. This event is for the handler and not the dog. This event will have a payback.

The Youth Pointing Division will be Saturday, February 22nd and Youth Flushing will be Tuesday, February 25th provided we have enough participants. The Youth Trial will consist of one run. A parent will be allowed to shoot for their child. UFTA will be covering a portion of the entry fee in order to facilitate the Youth event. Entry fee will be $30.00.

The Women’s Division will be held on Monday & Tuesday, February 24th & February 25th. The event will be separated into Flushers on Monday, February 24th and Pointers on the Tuesday, February 25th. Each event will consist of two runs. Women must shoot for themselves. The entry fee will be $125.00. Please contact Dan Ruffcorn if you wish to participate at 217-257-1339.

REMINDERS:
1. If you are the Handler/Designated Shooter and run a dog in qualifying, you MUST run the dog in the Finals.
2. A dog that goes to the finals as one of the High Point Dogs, counts as one of the four (4) dogs that a Handler/Designated Shooter could possibly be taking to the finals.
3. Dogs that had not run in a UFTA event prior to January 1, 2018, will not be qualified to run in the 2019 Nationals unless we have received a copy of the UKC registration on these dogs. Please email or text a copy of the UKC registration paperwork to us. The email address is: [email protected] or text to 770-335-7959. If your dog is listed as UKC Needed, you must send a copy of your UKC registration paperwork along with your registration form in order to participate in the Nationals.
4. If you are registering and paying for someone else’s dog(s), you must submit a separate registration form for each additional owner. You can secure a blank registration form from the website to complete this process. Please register only the dogs listed on your form.

The entry fee for each division is listed on your registration form which is enclosed with this letter. This year you have the option to either pay your fees in full or just the required deposit amount. Please choose to either pay the full amount or just the required deposit amount. Please note the change in fees.

Please complete the enclosed form and mail it along with your registration fees. Make your check payable to UFTA and mail to UFTA, 221 Neal Road, Commerce, GA 30530. Your registration and any other necessary documentation must be postmarked on or before Tuesday, January 28, 2020 in order to participate.

2020 is the year for rule change requests. These request will be accepted until June 30, 2020. Please mail you written request for the rule change to: UFTA, 221 Neal Rd, Commerce, GA 30530. These must be postmarked on or before June 30, 2020.
