Welcome to the UFTA
Founded in 2001 by a dedicated group of field trialers and bird dog enthusiasts, The United Field Trialer's Association provides a competitive venue for field trial competitors who appreciate having a fair and consistent system for measuring a dog's performance. UFTA's scoring system for field events eliminates bias on the part of the judges and focuses on the dog and handler's ability to locate and harvest birds in a safe and sportsmanlike manner.

Highlights
***2026 UFTA Nationals***
2026 UFTA Nationals will be held at Round Stone Native Seed, 9764 Raider Hollow Road, Upton, KY 42784. February 21st through the 28th. This is a unique opportunity to move to a location with room for several fields and large buildings. The event schedule will be adjusted from past Nationals due to the addition of Amateur Flushing. The board will review and set a schedule during their August meeting. As with all Nationals, event schedules are weather dependent and may change. We look forward to see you at UFTA club trials throughout the year. UFTA qualifying year ends December 21, 2025.

Rule Change Requiring 65% Member Majority
3/28/25 - The Board of Directors has added the following to the Article VII: Rule Changes By-Law: Rule changes voted on by members per this section will require a 65% majority vote to enact a change.

2024 High Point Dogs
2024 High Point Dog Open Pointing is Gabe Kessinger and Clyde. Second place is Nate Hilligus and Dax. Third place is Mike Ahnstrom and Kai.

AMATEUR POINTING REGISTRATION FOR NATIONALS
Amateur Pointing dogs' registration must be on file and updated on the UFTA website if you wish to compete at Nationals in the Amateur division. Please text or email your dog's registration as soon as possible.

Seniors Division
Based on feedback from UFTA members, the UFTA will structure a Seniors Division on a temporary basis for the 2024 trial year under the below guidelines. We hope to gather further feedback from seniors this year to evaluate the viability of a seniors division or return to the past structure.
